Button Love

I have a large collection of buttons,
most of them have had a couple of incarnations already. A lot of them are many years older than me!

I was looking for some buttons for the jacket I'm making. It's almost done, like my painting, it's been on hold for a while because I've been away from home over the school holidays and haven't been able to sit and do anything that involves concentrating.

I woke this morning wondering how I'm going to get back into painting again after such a long break and what do you think arrived first thing?

Ta daaaa!

My long awaited book written and illustrated by Suzi Blu. What a lovely treat to start the day! :)

Happy weekend everyone!

I love buttons too, especially when they are kept in old sweet or biscuit tins... Did you play with your Gran or mum's collections as well?

When I saw the buttons I just had to come by and have a little look. Yes I love them too.
The book looks fun I am a fan of Suzi so I may need to go and get that bought.

Mmmmmm LOVE the buttons: reminds me when I was a kid, my mom had a little chest of drawers with lots and lots of buttons in each drawer, I could play hours with it: arranging and re-arranging ;-) !!!

so many wonderful buttons!
how fun that inspiration arrived with magical timing!

Yes Charlotte, many of these were 'inherited' plus I've taken some from old garments that had worn out.

I must admit I do love buying new ones too but that doesn't happen very often!x

J'ai de nombreuses boîtes anciennes de ma grand-mère qui conservait tous les boutons... certains sont magnifiques, tout comme ceux que j'aperçois sur vos belles photos...
Génial de prendre du plaisir à regarder votre livre.
Gros bisous
I am sure the book will get you painting, no doubt many new paintings!

Nice to see your button collection. I too have a button box. It was my mum's and everytime I look through it I see her and some of the things she wore. it's a treasure chest.

Really a wonderful start of the day! I suppose you'll find a lot of inspiration between the pages!
I love buttons, too. I never throw away a button. I have some old ones from my Mum - as a little girl I used to make figures with them. But your collection is impressive! Imagine if the buttons could talk...:0)

Wow. That is a lot of buttons! I think I shall call you Madame Buttons from now on...hehehe. Just kidding. I guess in my case, it's charms and beads. I have oodles and oodles of them...to be honest, I don't really know what to do with them these days, but I keep buying anyway. Just can't help it! :))

I hope you're enjoying that new book! oxx

I'm so happy to hear I'm not alone in this! Many of these buttons hold precious memories for me too. Memories that only me and the buttons share! They look at me with their familiar faces and I know the memories are not imagined, they are real.xx

OOOh yum, buttons, what a deliciou collection. I love them more than anything becauce they remind me of my Dear Grandma who had a beautiful button collection & it was always a treat when we were visiting to sit and play with her treasures. I still have some of them now. Yay, the universe moves in mysterious ways, it knew you were looking for inspiration, enjoy x
